The original conception of Simple Words, Simple Sounds was an acoustic, chunky-guitar 16-bar blues in B minor. If memory serves, it was more of a lamenting tune rather than the tour de force we usually play it as today. As we rehearsed the song, it became more and more heavy and agitated; and of course, this pleased us increasingly.
